Horse and Pony Show
Virtual Horse & Pony Show
We are pleased to announce our first-ever Virtual Horse & Pony Show. The shows have been a much-loved signature series of events across every summer but, this year, lockdown has curtailed them to date. A series of classes will be launched online on 4 July, with entrants submitting photographs for examination by the roster of experienced show judges. Their verdicts will be announced around two weeks later, with rosettes being posted to successful winners shortly after.
It’s an idea that has been trailed with success by other Horse & Pony Clubs across the country as a way of keeping events going, ahead of any easing of government restrictions in the weeks ahead. “This is far from ideal, but we think it’s a great way of keeping our club going in this difficult time,” said Pip Read, who organises the shows with Committee Secretary Ros Shorting and Liz Thorpe. “I hope it’s going to be very successful.”
Full details of classes will be available on the shows’ Facebook page –
We had the first boot fair of the year on June 25 and it was very busy. It’s the start of some return to normality for the field’s many events. “We’re hoping for some sort of season – and a return to our usual levels of fundraising – just as soon as we are able,” said Chair Christine Aston.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following organisations for their support and the donation of the best of breed rosettes.
· Shire Horse Society
· Clydesdale Horse Society
· Suffolk Horse Society
· Percheron Society
Our supreme and reserve supreme rosettes have been kindly sponsored by M and J Burks.
We pride ourselves on having one of the friendliest and most popular horse and pony shows in the area, with a wide range of Inhand Showing and Ridden Showing classes to suit everyone.
Our dates for 2020 are:
April 18, May 16, June 20, July 18 and September 19
